This Greek revival home is a replica of the antebellum D’Evereux Hall mansion in Natchez, Mississippi. The mansion features a spiral staircase, two kitchens, and custom cypress flooring throughout the 7,450 square foot home.
Built in 1999, this $4.69 million estate sits on 2.73 acres in the Willow Bend Country neighborhood of Plano. It was recently updated and features a wealth of detailed design, from ornate crown moldings to a two-story closet.
The property has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and three half-bathrooms, but listing agent Michelle Field noted that there is an additional “in-law” suite and separate guest apartment that add three more bedrooms and two more bathrooms.
Field said she thinks the home could suit a family housing multiple generations, especially with the generous amount of extra space in the “in-law” and guest quarters.
She noted that the expansive home suits the pandemic lifestyle where families stay at home more often and everyone needs room to work.
“There’s a place for mom, there’s a place for your guests to come and stay in the apartment,” Field said. “There’s stuff for the kids to do, there’s rooms for everybody to do their homework, schoolwork, their work-work. You would never have to leave.”
Field described the exterior design of the home as Mediterranean and said the interior has transitional style. The circle driveway at the front of the home centers around a fountain. The fountain and the home’s entrance are flanked with statues of lions.
One step through the front doors and there is a straight-shot view through the foyer and into a living area that centers around three tall windows. The foyer is open to the second level, with high ceilings complemented by ornate molding details and Juliette balconies overlooking the foyer.
A sprawling staircase leads to the second floor.
The primary suite is housed on the first floor, with a large fireplace in the bedroom. The attached bathroom, which Field said is nearly the same square footage of the bedroom, has dual sinks, a water closet and a walk-in shower. The bathtub is a focal point in the bathroom, situated in front of a fireplace and windows, elevated by a set of stairs.
There’s a spiral staircase in the bathroom that leads to the primary suite’s closet, a two-story setup that Field said is more than 600 square feet. The second level of the closet overlooks the primary bathroom and has access to one of the upstairs suites.
There’s still more to the primary suite: an attached gym with a sauna that overlooks the backyard and has access to a patio.
The kitchen — which is open to a breakfast area and a living area — has a pizza oven, as well as a fireplace, plenty of built-in cabinets and ornate light fixtures and trim throughout.
Four of the bedrooms are on the second floor, all with en suite bathrooms, along with the in-law suite that has a kitchenette and spa bath.
Also on the second floor, there’s a large game room with an attached media room or home theater, and an outdoor balcony.
The home has covered space for nine cars between the garage and porte cochere. A separate guest
