Today Acura released teaser images and a Tron-style video revealing the interior of the new 2022 MDX, which will go on sale early next year. The fourth generation of the three-row SUV will be unveiled on October 14, and Acura says it will be the most premium and performance-focused MDX its history. These overproduced illustrations seem to support that claim.

For now, Acura isn’t very forthcoming with information, but says that the SUV’s new dash is wider and lower, leather-wrapped, and trimmed with open-pore wood. Like the RDX and TLX, it will have a single oversize infotainment screen, which Acura calls “ultrawide” without giving dimensions. It appears to be the largest in the brand’s lineup and will be controlled with a touchpad on the console.

The MDX will also feature Acura’s first digital gauge cluster, which will have two configurations, and a 25-speaker ELS Studio 3D premium audio system with integrated LED ambient lighting. Its new sport seats will be heated and cooled and will offer multiple massage settings. Perforated leather with contrasting stitching and piping will cover all three rows. Acura calls the elaborate design stitched into the upholstery “curvilinear quilting.”

There’s seating for seven; however, the second-row seat appears to be split 40/20/40, so we suspect the center section is removable, leaving two captain’s chairs and improving third-row access. The SUV’s conventional shifter has been replaced with a pushbutton unit, and its three-spoke steering wheel is shared with the TLX. We can also see a panoramic sunroof, aluminum speaker grilles, and multiple drive settings including Normal, Sport, and Individual.

Consistently Acura’s best-selling model, the MDX makes up nearly a third of its sales, so Honda’s luxury brand has a lot riding on the redo of its largest SUV. Recently we published exterior spy shots of the SUV, which Acura says will be the new flagship of the brand. In those images it looks to be somewhat larger than the current model and is expected to share at least one of its engines with the recently introduced 2021 TLX. The 355-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 found in the sedan’s Type S performance variant is a sure bet for the SUV, which is now powered exclusively by a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 that makes 290 hp. The MDX is also expected to get the latest version of Acura’s SH-AWD system and a10-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid model may follow down the road.

2021 Jaguar XF Mid-Cycle Refresh Revealed With Major Interior Updates

Jaguar gives its midsize luxury sedan a mid-cycle update for the 2021 model year. The second-generation XF, internally coded X260, was revealed in 2015 so it’s high time that the British marque put it under the knife to make it more attractive to the executive sedan market.

The 2021 Jaguar XF gets minute changes on the outside, so you’ll be hard-pressed to find them unless you own one or you’re a fan. The panels are largely the same – the LED quad headlights are a tad slimmer plus the grille gets “diamond detailing” with a chrome finish.

If chrome isn’t your cup of tea, Jaguar throws in a Black Exterior Pack for the 2021 XF that replaces all shiny things with noir. The bevy of updates is rounded out by a new set of 19-inch five-spoke wheels in silver or glossy black, or a set of 20-inchers in satin or glossy black.

While the updates on the outside are marginal, the cabin gets the heft of improvement for the 2021 model year. The outgoing XF’s small infotainment gets replaced by a curved 11.4-inch high-definition touchscreen. A new Pivi Pro infotainment system supplements the massive screen, promising intuitive usage and simplified structure. It comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as over-the-air updates and surround-view cameras.

Other 2021 XF updates include a new fully-digital instrument cluster and a convention gear lever replacing the rotary knob of the outgoing model – similar to the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace updates.

Buyers of the 2021 Jaguar XF will have two engines and powertrain options to choose from upon its arrival in showrooms by the end of this year. These choices include a rear-wheel-drive, 246-horsepower (183 kilowatts), 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder; and an all-wheel-drive 296-hp (221 kW), 2.0-liter turbo four-banger. These mills allow the executive sedan to bold from 0-60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) in 6.5 seconds and 5.8 seconds, respectively.

White House acknowledges Trump’s condition had been worse than revealed

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows revealed that President Donald Trump’s condition on Friday was far worse than officials had made public, saying doctors recommended the president go to the hospital after seeing he had a fever and his blood oxygen level dropped rapidly.

Meadows made the comments in an interview with Fox News broadcast Saturday night that capped two days of conflicting and opaque assessments of the 74-year-old president’s health.

“I can tell you this the biggest thing we see is with no fever now, and with him doing really well with his oxygen saturation levels,” Meadows told Fox host Jeanine Pirro. “Yesterday morning we were really concerned by that. He had a fever, and his oxygen level had dropped rapidly. Yet in typical style, this president was up and walking around.”

White House officials including Meadows said on Friday that Trump was experiencing “mild symptoms” and continuing to work. He told Fox News however, that doctors from Walter Reed and Johns Hopkins recommended that Trump go to the hospital.

“He’s made unbelievable improvements from yesterday morning when I know a number of us, the doctor and I, were very concerned,” Meadows said.

Lordstown Motors has just released some photos showing off the interior of its all-electric pickup truck, the Endurance (see gallery below). We had previously shared computer renderings of the inside of the cabin, and while those images were pretty accurate, there’s nothing like the real thing.

Like so many new vehicles, the screen is the main attraction here. We don’t have any numbers regarding its size or resolution, but it certainly looks suited to its mission of being a work-a-day vehicle for mainly commercial customers. All the info one needs for driving is right behind the steering wheel. Meanwhile, infotainment is located in front of the center console, where driver or passenger can reach and the various features and settings there.

It’s not a luxury interior – there is no rich Corinthian leather or stylistic baubles to enthuse about. There are, though, cupholders and a few knobs to adjust climate and other features. The gear selector appears to be a nice chunky dial placed forward on the armrest. 

Besides these interior shots, Lordstown also shared its current pre-order totals. When it originally launched this past June, only 14,000 had been spoken for. The company, however, may have stumbled across just the right segment to begin its automotive journey, since electric pickup trucks are the new black. Now, just three months later, that number has reached 40,000.

That 40,000 is nowhere near the 600,000 or so pre-orders for the Tesla Cybertruck, but we have to point out that the Cybertruck is a Tesla and, as such, draws upon the automaker’s experience in the industry, whereas Lordstown is a new startup.

C8 Chevy Corvette-based supercar with 715 hp, bespoke interior revealed

Ares is planning what’s possibly its most ambitious car project yet.

The Modena, Italy-based car customization company has revealed a bespoke supercar based on the platform of the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

Code-named the S1 Project, the supercar shares none of its lines with the Corvette and even has very different proportions, all formed from beautiful carbon fiber. For example, the S1 Project looks to have a more cab-forward design similar to a Koenigsegg or Pagani. There are also Koenigsegg influences when it comes to the wraparound windshield, while the central spine and single strip for the taillights is reminiscent of the Bugatti Chiron’s rump.

That’s no accident. According to Ares, the goal of the project was to create a car with hypercar looks but with performance you can actually use on the street. The donor Corvette’s mechanicals remain, but impressively Ares has managed to increase power substantially without going the easy route of using forced induction. An impressive 715 horsepower and 715 pound-feet of torque will be available, with the engine said to be capable or revving to 9,000 rpm.

Mated to the donor Corvette’s 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and spinning the rear wheels only, the engine should rocket the S1 Project from 0-62 mph in 2.7 seconds or less. Top speed will likely be over 200 mph.

As is the case for the exterior, the interior shares barely any likeness to the Corvette. The only similarity looks to be the shape of the steering wheel. Ares has gone with a dual-cowl design and has fitted its own instrument cluster with what looks to be an analog tachometer. An infotainment screen is located in the center stack which forms one piece with the center console, and another screen is positioned in front of the passenger seat. Trim materials include Alcantara, carbon fiber and Nappa leather.

The Ares S1 Project makes its formal debut at the 2020 Salon Privé Concours d’Elegance running until September 26 in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. Deliveries are due to start in late 2020, meaning development is already quite advanced. Ares will build just 24 coupe versions, after which more derivatives will follow. If you’d like one, pricing starts at 500,000 euros (approximately $592,610).

This isn’t the first time Ares has rebodied a modern supercar. Just last year Ares unveiled the Lamborghini Huracan-based Panther ProgettoUno. The “Panther” in the name is a reference to the De Tomaso Pantera, whose styling served as inspiration.

Dashboard design of Volkswagen’s first electric SUV will be as clean as its EV powertrain

Volkswagen has revealed the modern and minimalist new interior design of its first electric SUV ahead of the all-new Volkswagen ID.4’s world debut on September 23.

Borrowing heavily from the mechanically similar Volkswagen ID.3 hatchback, the ‘floating’ dashboard design of the Volkswagen ID.4 features a free-standing central touch-screen and digital instrument cluster, to which the gear selector is attached.

Described by the German car-maker as a flowing, lightweight design that emphasises the car’s spacious interior and adds elegance to the cabin, the striking new dash will be accompanied by a light strip below the windscreen dubbed ID. Light.

Volkswagen says it ID. Light will support drivers in a variety of situations with intuitive lighting effects in different colors, like when the vehicle’s drive system is active and that the car has been unlocked or locked, and by accentuating information from the driver assist, navigation and infotainment systems by signaling braking prompts and incoming phone calls, for example.

The Volkswagen ID.4 cabin is dominated by “calm, sophisticated” colors called Lunar Grey and Galaxy Black, while the steering wheel, steering column and control panel housings are dressed in Piano Black or Electric White.

Highlighting the clean, futuristic design will be options including a fixed panoramic glass roof and a 30-color ambient lighting system that can be adjusted to underline the cabin’s main features at night.

“Freedom on the outside, free space on the inside,” said Volkswagen Group Design chief, Klaus Zyciora, who oversaw the ID.4’s design in his former role as Head of Volkswagen Brand Design.

“The ID.4 brings a new sense of space to its category thanks to the new MEB platform, our modular electric drive matrix.”

In its most recent media release, Volkswagen also said occupants will enter the ID.4 cabin via flush-fitting exterior door-handles with electric unlocking and large door openings.

The five-seat Volkswagen ID.4’s seating position will be higher than the ID.3’s thanks to its extra ride height and the SUV’s cargo area behind the rear seats will be a massive 30.3 cubic feet (858 litres).

Its basic dimensions were leaked in June, revealing it will be roughly the size of Australia’s top-selling SUV, the Toyota RAV4, at 4592mm long and 1852mm wide.

In Europe, the battery-powered Volkswagen ID.4 will initially be launched in rear-wheel drive form, with an all-wheel drive version to be added a later date.

Three lithium-ion battery choices will be offered – 45kWh, 58kWh and range-topping 77kWh. The biggest and most expensive battery offers a maximum claimed range of around 500km (WLTP) on a full battery charge.

 

 

Volkswagen says the ID.4’s 0.28Cd coefficient of drag and scalable battery architecture aid its efficiency, performance and interior space packaging.

The German giant’s first fully-electric SUV will initially be sold in Europe, China and the US. Pre-production of the SUV has already started in China and Germany, and is scheduled to get underway in the US in 2022.

Volkswagen is showing off the interior of its upcoming ID.4, the first electric vehicle coming to the United States based on VW’s MEB EV platform. Slated to be unveiled in late September, the electric crossover is part of a large electrification plan from the German automaker. It is expected to go on sale here by the end of the year.

VW Group head of design Klaus Zyciora says the vehicle displays “freedom on the outside, free space on the inside.” The photos show a clutter-free cabin with a floating infotainment display and VW’s ID.Light 30-color ambient light strip, which runs across the dash. Volkswagen says that light will be used to convey messages to the driver such as when the vehicle is on, when it’s locked, or if there’s an incoming phone call, as well as driver-assistance information.

While many features have been moved to the infotainment system, there are still physical soft-touch buttons under the display for volume, climate control, drive mode, and driver assistance. The steering wheel and the column-stalk controls are essentially what you would find in any modern vehicle. But the gear shifter is attached to the right side of the digital dash cluster. It all comes off as very clean and focused.

One fun item carried over from the concept vehicles is the pause-and-play brake and accelerator pedals. The interior will be available in in either Lunar Grey and Galaxy Black, while the steering wheel, column, display housings, and control panels in the doors will be available in Piano Black or Electric White.

Volkswagen stated that with the rear seats up, the vehicle has 30.3 cubic feet of available cargo space. The automaker did not share how much that number grows with the rear seats folded down.

With a promised range of up to 310 miles, Volkswagen is taking on the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Kia Niro EV. Right after it’s officially unveiled later this month, Volkswagen will begin taking $100 refundable deposits from people hoping to reserve an ID.4 of their own.

It is not only the most effective way to control caterpillars but also very eco friendly and does not damage your crops or the environment. BTK is the best type of bacterial for caterpillar control.

Other ways to get rid of caterpillars are neem oil which works wonders and acts instantaneously. Neem is extremely bitter and caterpillars will not dare touch plants that have neem oil sprayed on them. There is also another spray called Rotenone-Pyrethrin that is effective.

There are many ways in which you could get rid of caterpillars before they create havoc in your garden. Try one of the methods mentioned above and your garden will be caterpillar-free for sure.
