Sizing & Installation Tips

One of the biggest mistakes consumers make in the bathroom is not installing adequate lighting around wall mirrors and vanity areas. Not only will good lighting make your space more pleasant and comfortable looking, it’s also essential for applying make-up and grooming. With larger mirrors or wall spaces, look to use 19″-24″ wall light fixtures, or larger, to light the area from above. Halogen bath lights, which are brighter, are also worth considering. When using a single bathroom sconce on either side of a mirror, the recommended hang height is somewhere around 60″ off the floor and 30″ apart. Bath bar lights need to be mounted somewhat higher above the floor, around 70″-75″ high. If extra lighting is needed in other parts of the room, LED recessed lighting offers an energy-efficient, focused option. Unique Bathroom Lighting

Your unique sense of taste can make all the difference in creating a stunning bathroom with beautiful lighting! Bathroom light fixtures come in a few main styles, including vanity lights, bath sconces, and bathroom ceiling lights. Within these categories, you’ll find a wide range of interesting design textures, shapes, and color combinations. Before shopping our collection of popular bathroom light fixtures consider these bath light elements that may influence your choice:

Bathroom Vanity Lighting: is an important design consideration as it needs to provide task lighting and compliment your style. See our vanity lights category for more information.

Bath Sconces: are wall mounted bathroom light fixtures that you will likely find on either side of your bathroom mirror. As such, you should think about the style and size of your bathroom mirror when selecting bath sconces.

Bathroom Ceiling Lights: While bathroom lights around the mirror may be the first to come to mind, bathroom ceiling lights provide additional illumination. Consider placement and lumens count in combination with any bathroom vanity lighting.

Number of Bathroom Lights: The number of bulbs in a bathroom light fixture can vary from 1-6 depending on the length of the vanity and the level of light needed.

Bath Light Covers: Some bathroom lights will have bulbs exposed, while others will feature bulb covers or shades. Bath light shade materials can vary from frosted to clear glass, fabric, or even sparkling crystals. Consider which shade might work well with the colors and textures already in your bath decor.

When you know the basics of bathroom lighting, you can let your creativity flow to make a unique statement with your bathroom style!

How to Upgrade Your Bathroom Hardware: Buying Guide

Regardless of whether your bathroom needs a complete makeover or some few touches to improve it, Sam’s Club will always have everything you need to take your bathroom to the next level.

Here is what to look out for when upgrading your bathroom:

How to Upgrade Your Bathroom Faucets

What Makes A Good Bathroom Faucet?

The best faucet for your bathroom will trickle down to your unique situation. Ideally, the best faucet should rhyme with the interior design of your entire bathroom to make it look even more appealing. Additionally, it should not only be interactive enough to use but also help you with your water conservation goals.

When picking from the faucets we have at Sam’s Club, be sure to consider whether you are installing a new sink or using an old one and where the faucets will be opening from. Also focus on the size of your bathroom as a small bathroom will call for a different faucets type from that of a large bathroom. For a touch of consistency, you should also consider buying a faucet that rhymes with other faucet types all over your home.

Among the most popular brands you can find at Sam’s Club include:

  • VIGO
  • Hardware House
  • Watts Premier
  • Design house
  • Artika
  • Ove Decors

The Different Types of Faucets

Bridge Faucets

Bridge faucets give you a combination of both old fashioned bathroom design elements and modern-day décor. Ideally, both the faucet and the levers all branch off a singular part, and the setup requires you to have two holes in the bathroom countertop. They are among the best option for under mount sinks. Since bridge faucets have to be mounted on bathroom countertops, they make it easy to maintain a hygienic bathroom as you can clean around them easily.

Center-Set Faucets

Center-set bathroom faucets typically have three holes for mounting two handles and a spout in the middle. The handles are usually four inches apart.

Single Handle (Single Lever Faucets)

Simply put, this is a bathroom faucet with only a single handle. The handle will help you control both the water pressure and temperature. While you might only require one hole to mount the faucet, some of them require you to use two holes. For the latter, some companies provide a mounting plate to help cater for the extra holes.

Wall Mount Faucets

This type of bathroom faucet is mounted on the wall, instead of on the countertop or sink. It has been a great option for homeowners looking to give their bathroom a modern and utilitarian appeal. It also makes it cleaning around the sink easy. Since there will be no hardware along the edges of the sink, it is easy to wash away dirt and calcium deposits.

Deck Mount Faucets

These faucets typically mount onto the bathroom countertop. They can be used on both bathroom sink faucets and bathtubs.

Vessel Faucets

Unlike the traditional under mount sinks, vessels sinks tend to use a
