First, she cuts a sock in half, then she fills with rice and adds old tights for padding. Then the genius part comes when she sews loops around the ball to create sections – and a pumpkin is then created before our eyes. Topped with a twig and a spray-painted leaf, Stacey proudly held up her creation to the camera.

Grandfather receives brutal note from neighbor about his ‘ridiculous’ house decorations

A grandfather recently received a vicious note from his neighbor that many people online are calling racist.

Earlier this week, Twitter user @goldenstef posted a picture of the letter saying: “Someone REALLY sent this to my grandpa…… my man is just trynna [sic] decorate his house and……. I f—ing hate people.”

The letter was signed by “the decent, middle-class people with Class of Thunderbird Hills sub-division,” but appears to have only been written by one person, who used the phrase “my wife and I” at the very beginning of the note. Thunderbird Hills is in San Antonio, Texas.

The letter writer begins by explaining that he and his wife occasionally walk around their neighborhood to exercise, but whenever they pass the grandfather’s place they see he has “yet another new decoration or ornament in front of your house.”

LONELY WIDOWER FLOODED WITH THOUSANDS OF MESSAGES FOLLOWING PLEAS FOR FRIENDSHIP

“Oh my God — Enough already,” the neighbor wrote. “All the people that we know in our neighborhood have commented on the EXCESSIVE decorations in front of your house — and am sorry to say, you’re [sic] house has become, and is, the laughing joke of the neighborhood.”

“Some of our friends have even purposely driven in front of your house just to see how RIDICULOUS all those decorations look like — and needless to say, they all laugh,” the neighbor added. “All those decorations are in ‘bad taste’ and only goes to prove to everyone that a ‘low class Mexican family’ lives there, or some Gypsy family.”

The neighbor goes on to complain about the man’s “pot plants in the middle of the lawn.”

“Oh my God, where do you people come from?” the neighbor wrote. “It makes absolutely no sense to have ‘plants’ in the middle of the lawn. Also, do you realize that you have four or five American flags displayed in your front. Hello? Do you think that’s going to make people think you’re patriotic? Believe me, they will think like we do — at how Ridiculour [sic] that looks.”

“Apparently you people must have come here to our neighborhood from the deep West side or the deep South side where all the poor people with no class live,” the neighbor added. “Believe me when I tell you that your house is an EMBARRASSMENT to the neighborhood.”

To conclude the note, the neighbor recommended that the grandfather “start looking at the other houses around here and then take a look at your own house.”

“And then come to realize how ridiculous and embarrassing your excessive house decorations look to the rest of us,” the neighbor wrote.

Since the post went up, the tweet has had more than 237,000 likes, 39,800 retweets and 5,400 comments, with

Moving Your Fish Tank Decorations To A Different Tank

There will come a time when you may need to move your fish tank decorations to a different aquarium. This could be for a variety of reasons, for example because the number of fish that you have has outgrown your current tank, or it could be that someone had given you some second hand aquarium decor that you would like to use. For whatever reason it is, you would need to follow some rules to ensure that the fish tank decor is safe to be used in your new tank.

Why All The Fuss About Transferring Aquarium Decor

Can’t we just remove the fish tank ornaments from one tank and just drop it into the other? Why is there such a fuss or need to have proper preparation? The main reason is microbes.

You see, your fish tank decor has been soaking in the tank water for a very long time. Even with the best cleaning schedule, these ornaments are perfect surfaces for breeding bacteria and fungus. This is especially true for tank accessories that have detailed carvings and rough surfaces. The cracks and gaps between the details make it very hard to properly clean and will allow the perfect hideaway for these microbes.

Taking out the decoration from the old tank and putting it into the new one without any preparation will cause these microorganisms to be transferred into the new tank. With the conditions in the new tank being just right, it will cause a bacterial bloom that will be very unhealthy for your fish.

Furthermore, if you have new fish in the new aquarium that has not been accustomed to the microbes from the old tank, they will definitely fall ill and die. So preparation is necessary when transferring the aquarium decor.

But bacteria isn’t the only worry here. There are also snails. While it is fairly easy to spot a snail sitting on one of the ornaments when you remove it from the water, their eggs are almost invisible to the naked eye. Without proper preparation, you would be introducing these snail eggs to the new tank and once they take hold of the tank, they are really hard to eliminate.

How To Properly Transfer Aquarium Ornaments

It really isn’t that hard to transfer tank decor the right way. The key idea here is to properly sanitize the accessories and ensure there are no microbial transference. Here’s what you need to do is steps:

  1. Remove the item from the old tank and give it a good rinse. You do this to dislodge any larger debris from it so that we can properly clean it later.
  2. Using a soft tooth brush, give the decor a good scrub. Keep in mind that the cracks and details of the ornament are ideal places for microbe colonies so give them a good scrub. Dip the decor in plain water from time to time to get rid of the stuff you scrubbed off. Do not use any form of soap or

Home Decor Fall Decorations

The fall season is upon us, time to break out the sweaters and jeans and put away the summer clothes. Now is the time to be out at night around a nice fire with family and friends cooking up some sweet snacks or tasty treats. Summer has finally given up its hold and relinquished control to cooler days and crisp nights.

As the season's change so will the items we use to make our homes ours. With home decor fall decorations you can add rich colors, fall blooms, wall art and new scents. The leaves this time of year are changing colors and you will see red, orange-red, reddish-brown, yellow, brown-yellow, golden bronze and scarlet red. Of course the colors you see will depend on what trees and bushes you have in the area you live.

Also with this time of year are the new candle scents that are being introduced. Some of the scents I have seen are Autumn in the Park, Crisp Morning Air, Sweater Weather, Marshmallow Fireside, Pumpkin Pit Stop and Apple Tree Picnic.

We cannot forget the flowers that bloom in the fall. These perennials are Aster, Red Spider Lily, Fall Crocus and Toad Lily and will be back year after year for our pleasure and enjoyment. Not to mention their decorative properties.

There are many ways to incorporate these items in and out of our home. We can have candle holders in the house or on the patio for the scent's of fall. Try putting flowering plants in pots or planters on the patio or the side of walkways for adding color. You can also cut the flowers and bring them in the house and display them in vases for adding color and aroma to any room. Finding different color leaves and arranging them in a basket would look nice as a centerpiece on the dining room table. The best way to arrange the leaves would be by color and size like you do for flowers. Another idea for the basket would be to use different types, sizes and colors of gourds arranged in the basket with some leaves for accent. If you have fir trees nearby you may be able to find some pine cones to use in your ideas.

Wall art depicting fall scenes can be displayed for added charm. Art that I've seen lately are Iris in Bloom, cattail marsh, winter tree, autumn leaves, fall medley and golden autumn walk. These can be just metal cutouts or actual paintings with bright colors.
