The 10 Best Interior Accessories for Your Car

Want to make life easier while behind the wheel? These accessories are game-changers, and come highly recommended by the Road & Track staff. Whether it’s for yourself or as a gift, you won’t be disappointed in any of these items.

Foldable Car Garbage Can

Instead of filling your car’s cup holders, storage areas, or floor with trash, install a real, actual trash can like this one to keep things organized.

It’ll keep garbage from piling up over time, and makes clean-up a breeze.

Portable 12V-Powered Car Vacuum Cleaner

Anyone who’s had kids in their car will understand how quickly things can get filthy inside. Having this 12-volt-powered vacuum cleaner on hand means quick cleanups for messes and spills.

Car Audio Cassette to Bluetooth Adapter/Receiver

If you have an older car, your radio or head unit might not have an AUX input for playing your own music through your phone. This receiver from Arsvita can connect to Bluetooth wirelessly, and transmit sound through the connected cassette into your period-correct tape deck.

12V-Powered Bluetooth FM Transmitter

If your car doesn’t have an AUX input or a cassette tape deck, listening to your own music from your phone can be a bit tricky. This Bluetooth FM transmitter connects wirelessly to your device, then broadcasts sound onto an FM radio channel you can tune into via your radio.

It sounds complicated, but it’s actually easy to set up, and works well as long as you can find a clean FM signal. There are even two USB ports if you need to charge your devices at the same time.

12V-Powered Car Power Inverter

If your family is device-obsessed, your car’s standard assortment of charging ports might not cut it. Solve the issue using this Amazon-recommended power inverter. It has two 110-volt wall sockets and four USB charging ports.

Cargo Trunk Organizer

Your car’s trunk can get disorganized quickly. Instead of letting that happen, buy a trunk organizer like this one to keep everything sorted. It’ll save you space, and make things easier to find when you’re in a hurry.

Head on over here to check out our full list of recommended trunk organizers.

Lifeline AAA Premium Road Emergency Kit

Stay safe in the event of an emergency with this kit from Lifeline. It includes jumper cables, a poncho, a flashlight, some first aid items, and even zip ties. A must-have for any road-tripper.

Ram Mounts Twist-Lock Suction Cup Phone Mount

Car phone mounts don’t get much better than this. Ram Mounts makes some of the most durable, dependable mounts on the market, with easy-to-use mounting and adjustment functions.

This particular setup uses a one-size-fits-all X-mount, with rubber grips and a spring-loaded release action. So even if you get a new phone, it’ll still fit perfectly.

Air Vent-Mounted Car Phone Mount

Looking for a phone mount that’s a little more subtle? This one, made by Kenu, mounts to most air vents within seconds, and uses a sliding mechanism to hold your device.

It’s simple, easy, cheap,

Road rage: Man rams car into bike after argument in Delhi’s Dilshad Garden – cities

New Delhi:

In a road rage incident in east Delhi’s Dilshad Garden early Monday, two friends received multiple injuries after their motorcycle was hit from behind by a car with whose driver they had an argument minutes earlier, police said.

The impact of the hit was such that both men riding the Royal Enfield motorcycle were left with multiple fractures. The Swift car itself climbed up a pavement after hitting the bikerss.

The car driver has been booked for attempt to commit culpable homicide but is yet to be arrested. “We have details of the suspect and are out to find and arrest him,” said a senior police officer who didn’t want to be identified.

The crime happened around 12.30 am on Monday when Juber, 23, and his friend, 22-year-old Siraj, were out to have soft drinks at a shop in Dilshad Garden.

Juber, who runs a milk shake shop and was riding his Royal Enfield motorcycle, told the police that he and his friend were having soft drinks at a shop when a Swift car taking a turn on the road hit the front tyre of his motorcycle.

“The two men hopped on to their motorcycle and chased the car before bringing it to a halt. An argument ensued between them, but other people intervened and separated them,” said the police officer.

While the two men began to return to the shop where it had all begun, the Swift car driver allegedly decided to chase them.

“We heard continuous honking from behind. We ignored it, but the car hit our motorcycle very hard from behind. Both of us were thrown off the motorcycle. The car climbed a pavement and ended up with a broken bumper,” Juber told the police.

When the car driver got off his vehicle to check his broken bumper, Juber said he saw that it was the same man with who they had an argument minutes earlier.

“People gathered at the spot and the driver took advantage of the situation to slip away with his car,” Juber told the police.

The car’s registration number plate had fallen at the spot, with the help of which the police identified the suspect. The police didn’t reveal his identity, pending his arrest.

The two injured men were rushed to a local hospital from where they were referred to Safdarjung Hospital. “They have suffered multiple injuries and are receiving treatment,” the officer said.

Portland man arrested after shattering patrol car window, pepper-sprayed interior: police

A Portland man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly smashed out the window of a police cruiser and pepper-sprayed the interior.

An officer was inside the vehicle at the time and is recovering from his injuries, police said. The suspect, John B Russell, 41, is facing multiple charges.

“As police officers, we know that the vast majority of community members who approach and contact us do so with no intention to do us harm,” said Chief Chuck Lovell. “However, attacks like this one remind us all that there is the potential for people to try to take direct violent action against police officers.”

After the officer relayed the suspect’s description over the radio, police located the vehicle about six blocks away and arrested Russell. The officer had recognized the car as one that had been following him earlier, police said.

Inside the vehicle, officers said they discovered window punch tools, pepper spray, throwing knives, a laser pointer, a slingshot, rocks, and other items, which were all seized as evidence.

This $39 Handheld Vacuum Is Perfect for Quick Cleanup in the Kitchen, Car and Everywhere, Really

The other day I knocked over my pinch bowl full of salt and made a huge mess all over my spice cabinet, counter and newly cleaned floors. It all stayed there until I finally lugged up our heavy vacuum from the basement to clean it all up. Next thing I know, I’m scrolling Amazon for handheld vacuums and came across this BISSELL AeroSlim Lithium Ion Cordless Handheld Vacuum. With hundreds of 5-star ratings and a price tag of $39, I don’t think I could have hit “Buy Now” any faster.

etg – 39.99 Available at Amazon

This sleek vacuum is small enough to keep on the kitchen counter and, according to the reviews, strong enough to pick up everything from coffee grounds to pet hair with ease. It comes with a 2-in-1 crevice tool and dusting brush, which makes cleaning up messes in tricky areas—like my spice cabinet—effortless. Other areas I’ll be targeting when I get this handy vacuum will be the stairs (I can’t tell you how much dog hair collects there) and my powder room (it’s just too small for my big vacuum).

And as if I needed another reason to buy this handheld vacuum, every purchase of a BISSELL vacuum supports the BISSELL Pet Foundation, whose mission is to help save homeless pets. Sold!

Brisbane mother Jasmine Campbell cleverly repurposes coffee tables from old car tyres

Clever mother creates stylish coffee tables out of old CAR TYRES – and interior enthusiasts are rushing to buy them

  • Jasmine Campbell started ‘upcycling’ furniture after her sons were born
  • The Queensland mother now sells her wares under the label Modern Mila
  • Among her most inventive pieces are coffee tables fashion out of recycled tires
  • The sustainable designer is charging $150 a piece – and people are loving them

A mother’s handmade coffee tables cleverly repurposed from old car tyres are attracting a legion of fans on social media.

After the birth of her sons, Jasmine Campbell became aware of how much waste her young family was producing.

Eager to reduce her environmental footprint, the mother from North Lakes, 26 kilometres north of Brisbane CBD, started ‘upcycling’ furniture and accessories from leftover materials.

Ms Campbell now sells her wares on Modern Mila, a Facebook page that features inventive creations like stylish coffee tables fashioned out of recycled tyres.

The repurposed wheels – for which Ms Campbell charges $150 – are wrapped in woven twine and fitted with a sealed bottom and removable lid, creating a hidden storage space in the middle of the living room.

‘Like all my upcycle projects I’m really quite passionate about these guys!’ Ms Campbell posted on Facebook.

‘It’s so hard to get trendy furniture at a reasonable cost and made sustainably. Plus it comes with that additional storage space under the lid.’

Photos of the tables have already attracted attention on social media, with many tagging their friends and suggesting they buy one.

‘I think seeing the tyre on the inside is like a hidden gem when you open the lid, you don’t expect it!’ one woman replied.

A second said ‘amazing, what a great use of old tyres’ while a third added: ‘How clever!’

‘They look amazing, great job as usual,’ said a fourth.

Not content with just one sustainable creation, Ms Campbell also uses the scraps leftover from her coffee tables to make indoor plant pots.

Other popular pieces on her Facebook page include soy wax candles hand-poured into discarded jars and earrings made from old denim.
