After 10-year-old locked herself in bathroom, 3 brothers accused of breaking in and raping her | Crime/Police

Three brothers are accused of forcing their way into a bathroom and raping a 10-year-old girl who had locked herself inside to hide from them, Kenner police said Monday.

Two of the suspects, Raul and Wilmer Paz Perez, both 35, were arrested Saturday and booked with first-degree rape of a victim under the age of 13, said Lt. Michael Cunningham, spokesman for the Kenner Police Department.

$700,000 bond set for Gretna man accused of raping 10-year-old girl

Authorities have arrested a Gretna man who is accused of raping and inappropriately touching a young girl over the course of four years.

Investigators are searching for a third sibling, Elder Paz Perez, 31, on the same charge.

The brothers are friends of the victim’s family, according to authorities.

The three were alone with the girl in a Kenner house on Sept. 9 when they began making sexual advances towards her, authorities said. The brothers offered the girl money, but she refused and locked herself in the bathroom, according to Cunningham.

The trio used something, possibly a butter knife, to unlock the door. The men then raped the girl, authorities said.

One of the girl’s relatives contacted police Saturday after she revealed the rape.

After their arrests, Raul and Wilmer Paz Perez gave conflicting statements about what they were doing at the time of the rape, Cunningham said.

As officers continue to look for Elder Paz Perez, detectives are investigating a second rape allegation against him involving another victim, according to Cunningham.

Raul and Wilmer Paz Perez were being held without bond Monday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna.

Anyone having any information on the whereabouts Elder Paz-Perez are asked to contact the Kenner Police at (504) 712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.

Man Accused Of Breaking Into Eminem’s House Says He Was There To ‘Kill Him’

KEY POINTS

  • Man who broke into Eminem’s house in April wanted to kill him, according to the testimony of a police officer
  • The officer also stated that when he arrived at the scene, he saw the invader wrestling with the security guard
  • The invader has been put behind bars following the incident

A stranger who broke into the house of rapper Eminem was there to “kill him,” according to the testimony of a police officer who responded to the incident.

Adam Hackstock, a police officer in Clinton Township in Michigan, testified that the “Rap God” hitmaker saw a man standing behind him when he woke up on April 5. At first, he thought it was his nephew, but later he found out that it was an intruder, Variety reported.

“When Mr. Mathers (Eminem) asked him why he was there. He was told by Mr. Hughes that he was there to kill him,” Hackstock said during the testimony.

A man named Matthew David Hughes has been accused of breaking into the home of the acclaimed artist. Since then, he has been taken into custody and is currently behind bars.

Apart from that, the officer also noted that Hughes introduced himself to the security guard as one of Eminem’s friends living in the same area in Michigan. Hackstock added that when he arrived at the rapper’s house, Hughes was wrestling with the security guard on the ground.

The officer cited Eminem’s statement and said that the rapper walked Hughes through several rooms before escorting him out of the house. Hackstock also noted that Hughes was not carrying any kind of weapons with him.

The intruder was taken into custody on first-degree home invasion charges, E! News reported. The “Love The Way You Lie” singer was not present at the hearing while his lawyer saw the proceedings through a video call.

Hughes would be taken to Macomb County Circuit Court on Sept. 28 for an arraignment.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, started his professional career in 1988 but tasted success with his second album “The Slim Shady LP.” Since then, the rapper has come out with 9 more albums and became one of the most influential musicians of all time.

The artist has 15 Grammy awards to his name, including six Best Rap Album accolades. Apart from that, he has one Academy Award to his name for the song “Lose Yourself” from the movie “8 Mile,” 8 American Music Awards, and 16 Billboard Music Awards.

U.S. House Speaker warns Britain that breaking Brexit treaty could imperil trade pact

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned Britain on Wednesday that ignoring some parts of its European Union divorce treaty could imperil any new trade agreement with the United States.

“If the U.K. violates that international treaty and Brexit undermines the Good Friday accord, there will be absolutely no chance of a U.S.-U.K. trade agreement passing the Congress,” the Democratic lawmaker said in a statement.

“The Good Friday Agreement is treasured by the American people and will be proudly defended in the United States Congress,” Pelosi said.

Britain quit the EU in January but has remained part of its single market, largely free of trade barriers, under an agreement that expires in December. London says that if it cannot negotiate a favorable trade deal to take effect from Jan. 1, it will simply walk away.

The agreement calls for border-free trade on the island of Ireland, which the EU says should in some cases require checks on goods passing between Northern Ireland and mainland Britain.

Some fear that a failure to agree on border arrangements could jeopardize the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, which largely ended three decades of political and sectarian conflict in Northern Ireland.

Breaking The Bathroom Bottleneck

When there are two of you trying to get ready for work, the early morning bathroom bottleneck can rival the rush hour commuter traffic. The impatient knocking on the door is reminiscent of honking car horns. The steam from the shower is a precursor of the exhaust fumes you'll encounter later. Tempers can grow short. Is this any way to start the
day?

Of course, you could sit down and work out a minute by minute his-and-her schedule to make things go more smoothly. That can work out nicely if you're both as precise as a Swiss clock and neither of you ever, ever oversleep. On the other hand, you might consider breaking the bottleneck at the source and giving yourselves a roomier, more luxurious bathroom where two can move as freely as one.

Creating a master bath to do double duty isn't a remodeling project that's particularly difficult or expensive. Depending upon the existing space in your bathroom, you may want to go all out and convert adjoining areas into part of the new master bath. Or you
may opt to rearrange what is already there with an eye toward increased convenience and comfort. In either case, the working rule is to design it for two people with individual needs.

Form follows function in this instance and since no room in the house is more functional than the bathroom, begin with the basics. Two sinks with a double vanity will provide plenty of room for her to apply makeup while he shaves. An oversized mirror creates the illusion of a larger space for relatively little cost. Lighting fixtures attached to the side
walls will add a dramatic, highlighting effect to help brighten up any morning.

A double-sized, walk-in shower with dual entrances makes for added convenience and a sort of tag team approach to washing for those occasions when you're truly rushed. A separate, sunken bathtub can be outfitted with whirlpool sprays for more leisurely times. And the two toilets you put in can be compartmentalized for extra privacy. Now if only the traffic cooperates, getting to work will be a breeze.
