I’m thinking the same thing…How did this happen? It’s cool, don’t get me wrong, but 10 million, 10 million views? The power of generation y-zers to propel two Israeli girls to internet stardom is still baffling. Forget internet, they’ve already been contracted by Israeli ad firms and have had dozens of top billing interviews with the Israeli media. I guess when you get more views than there are people in your country you’re a global star by default.
However, being that they’re from Ramle, a mixed Muslim/Jewish/Christian town in Israel, it makes much more sense. After I went to the Ramle municipal website I began to understand the power of the ‘Hey Clip’…
The Pool Of Arches or BREICHAT HAKSHATOT, is the hebrew name given
to the undergound reservoir located on HAGANA street in Ramla.
The Christians named the pool “Santa Helena” after Byzantine Caesar
Constantins mother, who visited the country in the year 326 A.D.
The arabs named it “Birkat Al-Anziya” meaning “The pool of the goats”.
It seems that here the shepherds watered their herds on their way to
pasture and back to the pen. The writting on the wall states that the
pool was built in the days when ruled the khalif “Harun Al-Rashid”
in the begining of the 8th century. Another pool, “The ungodly daughter”
located near by, is ruined at present.
I mean a place this exciting is sure to produce the best and most cutting edge internet videographers in the world. Well, maybe only the fourth best. Anyway, the song rocks, and so does their editing skills. So 10 million hit later, I’m still trying to figure it out. Let me know what you think?
