All humans carry the shame of embarrassing moments from their past. If you lived through the 80s, chances are you still have a relic from this embarrassing era somewhere in your possession.

Maybe it’s a piano tie, hanging in the back of your closet or a set of Star Wars bed sheets, folded neatly at the bottom of your linen cupboard. For me, it’s a 7” LP of the hit single “We Are the World”…

I used to listen to that joyous collaborative tune over and over again, until the needle on the record player wore away and my dad had to buy a new one.

So imagine my joy and surprise when I stumbled on this Israeli version of the song on Youtube. If you are unfamiliar with Israeli musicians, you probably won’t recognize any of these guys (some are still singing). But the 80s hair, clothing and attitude are there in spades, and the best part too: the ubiquitous 80’s key change (at about four minutes in, so stick with it!)
