Thru You Makes Music out of YouTube
It’s fair to say that YouTube has a lot of videos of people making music–either singing, playing some instrument or making nice sounds in some other way. Now, Israeli musician Kutiman has taken their work to the next level. By patiently sifting through dozens of YouTube videos and stiching them together, he’s managed to create a collage of sight and sound that is completely revolutionary. The New Yorker’s Sasha Frere-Jones sums it up quite nicely–Kutiman just “got the gold” for his hard work.
The video above shows the creative process at work, but there are amazing videos available on the Thru You project’s website. We can’t recommend these highly enough.
