If you think hummus is the only thing to eat in Israel, we have some news for you. Nextbook features a podcast interview with Janna Gur, author of the recently-published The Book of New Israeli Food: A Culinary Journey as well as some recipes from the book. These foods (like “Chicken Casserole with Dried Fruit on a Bed of Couscous” and “Beet and Pomegranate Salad”) are not dredged up from somebody’s fridge; they embrace the diversity of cultures that make up Israeli society and give many traditional foods a more modern touch. B’tayavon!!
