Tarantino’s “Basterds” premiers in Israel: “I’ll be sitting in the crowd, so please don’t throw any tomatoes.”
Quentin Tarantino has landed in Israel to attend the premier of his new “Inglourious Basterds.” The film has received rave reviews, and lead actor Christopher Waltz won Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival. Tarantino told Haaretz newspaper that the Israeli audience will be the real testing ground for measuring the movie’s success.
Prior to the premier Tarantino got on stage and asked the crowd not to throw tomatoes at the screen and requested that they bear in mind that in art, taboos can be broken. The people at “City Mouse Magazine” bring us the scoop:
