Windsurfers Converge on Tel Aviv Beaches

About 100 of the best European RS:X class windsurfers converged on the beaches of Tel Aviv over the past week for the European Championships. Haaretz notes that the location was a pretty good one for the competitors; the city provides a nice contrast to the out-of-the-way beaches where contests are usually held.

NYC Marches for Israel

Fans of Israel came out in the tens of thousands yesterday for the annual Salute to Israel Parade up New York City’s Fifth Avenue. The parade this year celebrated 100 years of Tel Aviv, and the city’s mayor, Ron Huldai, came in to join the festivities and marched at the head of the parade.
