Queen of England Honors Israeli WWII Vets
Queen Elizabeth II will present the Ministry of Defense medal to 32 Israelis who fought alongside the English against Nazi Germany. A special ceremony will be held this Thursday in Tel Aviv where British Ambassador to Israel, Tom Phillips will present the medals on behalf of the Queen. The 32 members being honored are part of the Disabled IDF Veterans Association. Before serving in Israel, many were a part of the “Jewish Brigade,” and all who are to receive the British medal were injured during their service.
One of the soldiers to be honored, Moshe Dotan, was captured in 1941 and became imprisoned in Auschwitz until it was finally liberated shortly before the war’s end. Many WWII veterans went on to fight in Israel’s War of Independence in 1948. All in all, 30,000 Jewish fighters from pre-state Israel volunteered for the British Army in World War II.

Hi, I think it is nice gesture and well deserved for veterans. They are heros and deserve to be treated like heros.
