Break out the matzah, it’s time for Passover! But don’t expect the usual dinner in Tel Aviv this year. Instead, some 700 Israelis will be gathering in on the beach in Tel Aviv for an unusual Passover celebration mixing old traditions with new. They’ll play in the sand and build replicas of pyramids until they are liberated by Moses, who will then lead them to the Promised Land. Sound kooky? Maybe, but one thing’s for sure. These families know how to bring new meaning and spirituality to Passover, and it sure makes for an interesting holiday! Read more at the JTA.

I WILL BE VISITING ISRAEL WITH MY HUSBAND AND 14 YEAR OLD GRANDSON AND WOULD REALLY LOVE TO BE PART OF A PASSOVER RITUAL OTHER THAN EATING IN A HOTEL. THIS SOUNDS INSPIRING AND EXCITING. WE LEAVE THE US ON MAR. 18th AND WILL BE IN TEL AVIV ON THE 29th. I AM ALSO CELEBRATING MY 75th BIRTHDAY AS WELL AS A BELATED TRIP FOR OUR GRANDSON’S BAR MITZVAH. PLEASE TELL US HOW WE CAN PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT. MANY THANKS. DIANE FELDMAN
