A report today from Ynet indicates that Ohad Naharin, the choreographer of the famed Batsheva Dance Company, will be this year’s recipient of the Award for Lifetime Achievement at the American Dance Festival. In this respect, he’ll be joining such luminaries as Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey, who have received the award in the past. This well-deserved honor goes a long way in showing just how influential Naharin and Batsheva have been to the world of dance at large–and it’s pretty exciting to see it recognized.
