NCAA Scouts Players in Israel
After losing one of his players, NCAA Florida coach Billy Donovan went overseas to find his potential replacement.
Israeli standout Nimrod Tishman was the chosen one. He began classes at the University of Florida on Monday and could join the Gators this fall. The 6-foot-6 point guard averaged 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists at the Under-18 European Championships in France in late July.
ESPN reports that Tishman must still be cleared by the NCAA, but they’ll take into consideration the fact that he played for Maccabi-Tel Aviv during high school.
Maybe one day soon he’ll join the ranks of fellow Maccabi player Omri Casspi, the first Israeli player to ever be selected in the opening round of the NBA draft.
