Dramatic phone camera footage has captured the moment a pedophile was beaten up and flung on a grass verge for allegedly spying on a child in a bathroom. Douglas Lane, 53, was battered after he was accused of spying underneath a bathroom stall at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Duncan, South Carolina.

A 15 year-old girl using that stall on Sunday said she saw convicted sex offender Lane peering up at her, and told her family what had happened.

Lane was then apprehended by a group of parents visiting Duncan for a softball tournament, and appears to have been assaulted before being dumped on a patch of grass with blood on his face and clothes.

An eyewitness in the restaurant said they heard someone cry ‘Get him! H’s getting away,’ as a man with a bloody nose attempted to run outside. The onlooker says Lane was tackled to the ground by a group of adults as he crossed the parking lot, with his interceptors then raining blows on him.

That eyewitnesses young son asked what had happened to Lane, with the dad telling him: ‘There was a bad guy, and a lot of good guys took down the bad guy.’

An accompanying video seen by WYFF showed Lane laying on the grass and making pleading arm movements with a group of adults, who appeared unmoved by his plight.

Lane was later arrested and charged with voyeurism. He told investigators he’d gone into the women’s bathroom ‘by accident’. The pervert was previously convicted of peeping into another restroom in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, in 2000 to spy on two children aged eight and nine.

He had another conviction for looking into a room occupied by an adult in 2008.
