Mark Twain & Israel
February 1, 2007 at 12:55 pm | In Face to Face, Art & Cinema | Send to a friendIf you’re a literature buff – or if you went through high school – you’ve probably read Innocents Abroad by Mark Twain. If you didn’t read it, or if you’ve forgotten the Cliff Notes version of it, it’s basically about Mark Twain’s road trip through the Middle East, among other places.
The point is he’s kinda harsh on Israel. And we understand that things weren’t quite like he expected. But it’s been a few years, and I daresay that we’ve changed Israel quite a bit. Not too many camels can be found in Tel Aviv these days.
Check out the above video to compare for yourself what he said about Israel and what it actually looks like now.

Wonderful video, but Mark Twain, does serve Israel well. It proves that the so called Palenstian’s were but wondering wayfares, who did nothing for Israel, and did not inhabit the land.
Obviously. it was God’s chosen people returning to the promise land, that made it a land of “Milk and Honey.
You should be praising him for his factual truths, and timely visit to the Holyland. Our God is great and always displays he truths, through those who are seeking it.
May our Abba Father, continue to bless Israel and you.

Sorry Cynthia but it is not because Mark Twain wondered around in several places of what was then Palestine to find only a few people there that the land was empty. Are you still believing in these neo -colonization like arguments ? Of course Arabs inhabited the lands and lived in it before Israel was established.
The Israelis made it a land of “Milk and Honey” ( though not for everyone it seems ).
But that brings us back to the usual ” we take care of the land better so you should take it all” argument, so often heard in the mouths of colonization like biggots.
Zionism is not colonization but one could believe it is judging by your comment….
