In its glory days, Jaffa’s Old Port used to be the place where crates of oranges were shipped off to colder climates and sold in the European market. But today, Jaffa is getting a makeover.

Jaffa has become the place where designers replace generals, and galleries set up shop in place of old orchards. Jaffa is the place to stroll along archeological ruins and catch the sunset over the Mediterranean sea. It’s also home to what some people consider the best hummus in the world.

See for yourself and check out the New York Times’ guide to Jaffa.
