Israel’s Ministry of Environmental Protection is banding together with Israeli NGOs to celebrate United Nations World Environment Day. The major event of the day was the Green Globes Awards given out to activists and leaders who have worked for environmental protection around the country. Since this year’s theme is climate change and reducing carbon emissions, ththe ceremony’s organizers took care to make this a carbon-neutral event by giving donations to alternative-energy initiatives and using more recycled goods.
