Nothing against socially conscious Starbucks, but sometimes their coffee is a bit over-roasted and has the caffeine effect similar to that of jet fuel. So we welcome Elite’s arrival with open mouths and can vouch for its great taste.

Elite Coffee-To-Go to US

The Strauss Group Ltd. (TASE:STEL) coffee carts are set to enter the US market, group chairman Ofra Strauss told the annual conference of the Kibbutz Industry Assocation yesterday. The company operates its takeaway coffee business in Israel through the Elite Coffee-To-Go chain.

Strauss added that the success of its gourmet chocolate subsidiary Max Brenner Ltd. had prompted a rethink of the group’s retail strategy. “We’ve learned from Max Brenner how to manage a uniform international brand worldwide, and how to manage retail. This is a skill which, if we acquire it properly, will enable us to consider launching additional brands in the future,” she said.

  2. it is wonderful to see that an Israeli company is joining the provisions for coffee here in the United States. Sometimes, I feel that if people in the Americas (North, Central, and South America included) had to choose a favorite food, it would be chocolate and coffee.

Only one note: it has recently been revealed that a great majority of child laborors and children slaves, worldwide, work in the coffee industry. Also, some of the most improverished farmers are coffee farmers. The Jewish people are a kind and caring people. We have the best laws in the world (our Holy Torah) on how to treat workers, both emotionally and financially. Please make sure that Israeli coffee is not only organic, but non-exploitive of workers, as well. It is just a small price to pay for Israeli coffee to be on top of the market - which I know it will.

Leading with an organic coffee, supplying fair and reasonable wages to people who work the farms, not buying coffee from farms that use child workers - we are natural leaders. Let us lead the world to a more environmentally friendly and economically nurturing place than it is now. Israeli coffee is a great place to start.

With all the coffee guzzlers in the America’s, you folks are really going to make it big!
