1. Name Sarit Chalamish
2. Born in Petach Tikva, Israel
3. Moved to New York in Sep 2005 after having graduated from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. In the US since late 2002.
4. I live on the Upper West Side and adore this area. People are nice, there is a strong neighborhood feeling, and being so close to the park is priceless. Another major advantage is the richness of Jewish life and activity.
5. For a living I do marketing strategy consulting. I cover multiple business issues, ranging from brand identity and inter-brand alignment, to market entry decisions, to competitive analysis. I’m currently working on a project at Christian Dior.

6. In my spare time I cook, hike, travel the world, swim, and read. Sometimes I do them all at once!
7. Favorite book anything by Paul Auster.
8. Favorite quote I don’t really have any, but I definitely subscribe to “Ein davar h’aomed befnei haratzon”, meaning: nothing can beat one’s willpower.
9. Last CD I bought Continuo by Avishai Cohen, one of the best jazz bassist in the world, and New Orleans Crescendo, a CD produced by my friends from the American Jewish Committee following our relief mission to New Orleans earlier this year.
10. Favorite director Francois Truffaut.
11. Favorite travel destination and what is special about it Latin America- happy people, stunning views, and if you go there when it’s wintertime in NY you get seriously tanned.
12. Favorite hang out place in New York I’m a big fan of little 12th street venues. It’s open 24-7 and is very quaint. In the summer you can find me on the rooftop of the Peninsula. You meet the best people there.
13. Favorite restaurant in New York Unfashionably I’d say that I love eating at home and hosting a couple of friends for the sacred triad: steak, potatoes, and lots of red wine.
14. What I love about New York is its open mindness and spirit, the richness of its cultural life, and the fact that it offers anything anytime for the right price tag…
15. I wish my parents would come visit me here!
16. I smile most of the time.
17. I get angry by stupidity in mass quantities, or by bureaucracy in general.
18. I do not forgive those who hate me for being Jewish or Israeli.
19. Once in a lifetime experience my wedding, in August 2002, in Israel. My husband Efi and I planned a very creative event and were blessed to enjoy it with nearly 400 people who love us deeply. This was the most beautiful day in my life.
20. Two Israelis I admire Stef Wertheimer, who I believe is a true visionary and a brilliant businessman. And Adam Baruch, who is the Jewish philosopher of our time.
21. Favorite memory from Israel Friday as a day is so different. I’d wake up naturally, go run some errands, hop to the beach or to the coffee shop, stock up on the weekend newspapers, take a nap, and cook for Shabbat. Nothing better than that.
22. What I miss about Israel is my family and friends.
23. Israel for me means home and values.
